Description
Good for:
- Robotics developers, universities and research teams who want a mid-size open quadruped with long endurance
- AI application prototyping (vision, voice, motion) on the C500, and self-navigating applications on the C501
- STEAM and innovation programmes
Not for:
- Buyers who need autonomous navigation on the Standard version (mapping, visually assisted walking and autonomous navigation are C501-only, and the C500 has no depth camera)
- A ready-made companion pet (this is a developer platform, not the BabyAlpha companion experience)
- Wet or dirty industrial sites (no IP rating published; operating range 0–35 °C)
What a quote includes:
Your chosen configuration — C500 Standard (with charger, Bluetooth remote control, dog leash and remote emergency stop) or C501 Ultimate (the same plus the depth-camera navigation stack and a visual remote control, per WEILAN’s official accessories table) — plus freight and duties as one landed total, confirmed by email before any payment. LiDAR, action cameras and other sensors shown in WEILAN’s ecosystem photos are optional add-ons, not standard contents.
Delivery, total cost & warranty:
Ships from China. At 24 kg with a large lithium battery, the C-Series travels by sea freight or DG air cargo; your quote states the routing, packaging and the landed total for your country before any payment. Warranty terms are the manufacturer’s and are confirmed in your quote. WEILAN notes the delivered unit’s appearance and specifications may differ slightly from its pages but will not fall below its quality-standard manual — your quote fixes the exact configuration.
Product FAQ:
Q: C500 or C501? A: They share the body, battery and motion system. The C501 adds four things: a depth vision camera; deep visual positioning and map construction; visually assisted walking; and autonomous navigation — plus the visual remote control in the box. If your project needs the dog to navigate by itself, choose the C501; for tethered or teleoperated development the C500 is the same platform for less.
Q: What can I develop on it? A: Linux + ROS on an ARM 64-bit platform with HDMI, USB and WiFi; WEILAN supports LiDAR and machine-vision sensors, Insta360 action and panoramic cameras, and Raspberry Pi / Arduino / M5Stack IoT ecosystems, and publishes AI application examples for developers.
Q: How long does the battery last? A: Up to 5.7 hours of average use, 3.3 hours of continuous walking, 8 hours standing and 18 hours standby on the 23 Ah lithium battery (WEILAN figures).
Q: How fast is it? A: Up to 1.5 m/s working speed and 3.0 m/s maximum safe speed, with 20° gradeability, dynamic balancing, push recovery and fall recovery.
