WEILAN BabyAlpha Dev-Q

WEILAN’s open developer dog: a headless (no face screen) white-and-grey quadruped with a carbon-fibre lightweight body, a top expansion deck and open ports for secondary development — plug in your own phone, tablet or computer and build mobile, telepresence and inspection applications on a platform that runs at up to 4.2 m/s. WEILAN lists the Dev-Q from ¥7,599 in China — PupRobot sells it quote-only, and we confirm your configuration and the final landed total by email before any payment.

Description

Good for:

  • Developers, makers and educators who want a fast, open quadruped to build on
  • Indoor delivery, telepresence and inspection prototypes on the 2 kg expansion deck
  • STEM programmes that have outgrown wheeled kits

Not for:

  • Families who mainly want a talking companion pet (the Dev-Q has no companion face screen or pet software — see the BabyAlpha A2 / Chat)
  • Payloads over 2 kg on the deck
  • Outdoor all-weather work (no IP rating published)

What a quote includes:

The Dev-Q in its current configuration and standard box contents, plus freight and duties as one landed total — confirmed by email before payment. Cameras, screens, containers and other add-ons shown in WEILAN’s scenario material are optional, not standard contents; the quote prices any you choose.

Delivery, total cost & warranty:

Ships from China. Your quote states the routing, packaging and the landed total for your country before any payment; at 15.5 kg with its battery it travels by DG air cargo or sea freight depending on route. Warranty terms are the manufacturer’s and are confirmed in your quote. Secondary development follows WEILAN’s developer programme (application guide on the official support centre); your quote confirms document and SDK access for overseas buyers.

Product FAQ:

Q: How open is it? A: WEILAN positions the Dev-Q as its open-source developer dog: the body carries Micro USB, USB, Ethernet and 12 V ports (visible in the official photos), development runs from phones, tablets and computers, and WEILAN documents a secondary-development path on its official support centre.

Q: Why does it have no head? A: By design — the Dev-Q trades the companion models’ face screen for a lighter carbon-fibre body and a top expansion deck, so all of its weight budget goes to motion and payload.

Q: What can it carry? A: The top deck is rated for 2 kg — enough for a container, a phone/tablet mount, cameras or a small sensor pack.

Q: How fast and how long? A: Up to 4.2 m/s (15.12 km/h) per WEILAN’s parameter table, with about 100 minutes of combined endurance and 60 W fast charging.
