Unitree G1

The Unitree G1 is a compact, foldable 1.32 m humanoid for embodied-AI research and demonstrations. Version matters: the base G1 is a closed demonstration unit and does NOT support secondary development; development requires the G1 EDU (SDK access, expandable degrees of freedom, optional dexterous hands). Versions and options are priced by quote.

Description

The G1 is Unitree’s compact, foldable humanoid (1.32 m) that made embodied-AI research accessible at a consumer-adjacent price. Important: the base G1 (from $13,500) is a closed demonstration unit and does NOT support secondary development. The G1 EDU adds SDK development, higher knee torque (120 N·m), higher arm payload, expandable DOF up to 43 and optional Dex3-1 force-controlled dexterous hands. Version and price are quoted per order.

Specifications (base G1, EDU differences noted):

  • Dimensions (standing): 1320 × 450 × 200 mm; (folded) 690 × 450 × 300 mm
  • Weight: ~35 kg (with battery)
  • Total DOF: 23 (EDU: 23–43 depending on options)
  • DOF distribution: 6 per leg, 5 per arm, 1 waist (EDU arms up to 7, waist up to 3)
  • Knee max torque: 90 N·m (EDU 120 N·m)
  • Arm max payload: ~2 kg (EDU ~3 kg)
  • Max speed: 2 m/s
  • Battery: 9,000 mAh quick-release smart battery; runtime ~2 h
  • Sensors: depth camera, 3D LiDAR (Livox MID-360), 4-microphone array, 5 W speaker
  • Compute: 8-core high-performance CPU; EDU optional NVIDIA Jetson Orin expansion
  • Connectivity: Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, OTA updates

Good for / Not for

Good for: embodied-AI research groups (EDU version); robotics demonstrations and exhibitions; teaching platforms with technical staff. Not for: buyers who expect to program the base version — it is closed; unattended consumer use; projects without operator training and space planning.
